Gorkhi-Terelj National Park (Mongolia: Горхи-Тэрэлж, / gɔrxi tɛrɛɮʃ /, Rhododendron Creek) is one of the national parks in Mongolia. Terelj tourist area there are several "tourist camps" (Mongol жуулчны бааз, juulchny Baaz). It is tied in Ulan Bator with a paved road (highway east towards # A0501 Baganuur Öndörkhaan, 37 km from the center of Ulan Bator, the turn left for class # A24, 5 km later, the road crosses the river and Tuul Park National begins). The road will be Gorkhiin Davaa (Mongolia: Горхийн даваа) pass. Most tourist attractions are in the fields, and before this step. The road ends, then the solution Terelj, with small shops and restaurants. Terelj Terelj Gol solution lies in Riverdale, about 66 km from the center of Ulaanbaatar.
The National Park is strictly tourist Nalaikh duuregs (district) of Ulaanbaatar, the rest (protected) area begins north of the river Terelj Gol in Mongolia and Töv aimag.
A small southern part of the park has been developed for tourists, restaurants, souvenir shops, horses and camels for rent, tourist camps of Germany, many of which deal Juulchin, former state tourism company. However, most of the park is undeveloped and inaccessible. Things are Khagiin Lake Khar, 20m deep glacial lake 80 kilometers upstream from the tourist camps, and Yeste hot springs, natural hot springs, 18 km stages. The park is also a Buddhist monastery, which is open to visitors. Nature Park includes the brown bear, and more than 250 species of birds. Tuul River flows through the park.
The park has many rock formations, rock climbers, including two formations the famous names of things like: Turtle Rock (Mongolian: Melkhii Khad) and the old man reading a book (Prayer Lama Rock).
Many Westerners were introduced to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, when the reality of CBS The Amazing Race has visited the park in the second episode of its tenth season.
