Royal Palace, Phnom Penh

the Palacio Real (Khmer: Preah Preah Reacheanachak Barum Nei Veang Reachea Kampuchea), Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a complex of buildings that served as a royal residence of the king of Cambodia. His full name is in the Khmer language Veang Reachea Preah Chaktomuk Barum. Kings of Cambodia have occupied since it was built in 1860, with a period of absence, when the country is in crisis, during and after the rule of the Khmer Rouge.

The castle was built by King Norodom moved the royal capital of Oudong in Phnom Penh in the mid-19th century. He was eventually built on top of an ancient citadel called Banteay Kev. It faces east and is located on the west side of the horizontal division of the river Tonle Sap and Mekong Chaktomuk is called (an allusion to Brahma).
