Bengal tiger

The Bengal tiger or Royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is a subspecies of tigers from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, and has been classified as endangered by IUCN as a population estimated at less than 2500 people with a downward trend. None of the tiger conservation landscapes in the scope of the Bengal tiger is big enough to support an effective population size of 250

The Bengal tiger is the largest of the subspecies of tiger - with an estimated 1706 people in India, 200 in Bangladesh, 155 in Nepal and Bhutan 67-81.

The Bengal tiger is the national animal of Bangladesh. Panthera tigris is the national animal of India.
