Royal Palace, Phnom Penh

The Royal Palace (Khmer:, Preah Preah Reacheanachak Barum Reachea Veang In Cambodia), Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a complex building, which serves as a royal residence of the king of Cambodia. The full name of the Khmer language is Preah Barum Reachea Veang Chaktomuk. King of Cambodia have taken over, because it was built in 1860, which was absent when the country was devastated during and after the control of the Khmer Rouge.

The palace was built by King Norodom relocated the royal capital of Oudong in Phnom Penh in the 19th century. It was gradually built on top of an ancient citadel called Banteay Kev. Facing east and is on the western edge of the section of the division of the Mekong River and Tonle Sap called Chaktomuk (an allusion to Brahma).
