Singapore Flyer

The Singapore Flyer, a wheel located in Singapore, built in 2005-2008. Described by its operators as a Ferris wheel, which reached 42 floors with a total height of 165 m (541 ft), making it the largest Ferris wheel in the world, 5 m (16 ft) above the Star of Nanchang and 30 m (98 feet) above the London Eye.

Located in the south-eastern tip of the center of Marina back to earth, is composed of 150 m (492 ft) diameter wheel, built on a three-storey terminal, which houses shops, bars and restaurants, and offers a vision ample of the city center and after about 45 km (28 miles), including the Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan and Johor, Malaysia.

The final capsule was installed on October 2, 2007, the wheel has started spinning, February 11, 2008 and officially opened to the public March 1, 2008. Tickets to ride the first 3 nights were spent S $ 8.888 (U.S. $ 6271), a promising number in Chinese culture. Opening for the Flyer was held on April 15, 2008.

Each of the 28 air-conditioned capsules capable of holding 28 passengers and a full rotation of the wheel takes about 37 minutes. Originally rotating counterclockwise as seen from the center of Marina, its management has changed 4 August 2008 under the direction of masters of Feng Shui.
