Bhuddas in Pak Ou Caves, Laos

Near Pak Ou (mouth of the River O) Tham Ting (lower cave) and Tham Theung (upper cave) are the caves overlooking the Mekong River, 25 km from Luang Prabang, Laos. They are a group of caves in the left side of the Mekong River, about two hours upriver from the center of Luang Prabang, and became very popular with tourists. The caves are known for their miniature sculptures of Buddha. Hundreds of wooden figures mostly very small and damaged Buddhists are arranged on the wall shelves. They come in different positions, including meditation, education, peace, rain and reclining (Nirvana).
